OOTD

Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I have a special guest in town for the weekend and decided to share our outfits for a day out in the city. My best friend Anaili is here to see the One Direction concert today so spent all of yesterday basking in the beauty that is New York City!

We both decided to wear something with pastel colors since the day was absolutely beautiful!

This is us outside of the New York Public Library!

I am wearing:

Anaili is wearing:

  • Mint pants from Forever 21 $14.50
  • Top from Nordstrom Rack
  • Cross body Bag from Target $24.99
  • Sandals in Cognac from Target $15.99
  • Sunglasses from Rayban

As far as makeup, we kept it pretty light since we were in a rush to start our excursion through the city!

One last picture at a French Bakery that is delicious! It’s called Laduree and it has the most amazing Macarons ever! If you’re ever in the city, check them out!

Hope you all enjoyed this post! 🙂

Night Time Outfit

Since spring has sprung, I love being able to put my colors together to go out at night. My favorite color is pink and I personally love to pair it with royal blue just because they compliment each other so well. For this outfit, I paired the two colors while keeping the rest of the pieces neutral.

I also want to mention that this whole outfit was a great deal! This pink blazer is amazing and only $6 from my local GoodWill shop! Blazers tend to get a little pricey so I suggest going to a thrift shop and looking through to find your next favorite blazer.

White T-shirt from Forever 21 $4.80

Blue Skirt from Forever 21 $6.80

Pink Blazer was thrifted from Goodwill $6

Glitter Pumps from Target $8.98 (Got these on sale a while back)

Gold Chain Link Necklace from Forever 21 $10.80

I’ve also got my natural curly hair making a come back now that it’s pretty hot out. More details about the products I use will come soon!

For my face I kept it pretty simple using:

  Nude on Nude by NYX

Mac Blacktrack Fluid line

Maybelline Colossal

Wet & Wild Ultimate Brow Kit

ELF Blush and Bronzer Duo

MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC35

Myself and the Empire State Building behind me! I love NYC!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

What’s your favorite thrift store find?

Orlando Haul

This weekend I had the chance to go to Orlando to visit my boyfriend. Of course I did some shopping! If you follow me on twitter, you saw some of the stuff I got. I will go into more detail and show you all the other items I purchased 🙂

Light Pink Belted Boyfriend Pants

$19.80

Essential White Vneck

$4.80

Charlotte Russe Accessories

All their accessories are on sale for $5 so I took advantage and got this amazing bracelet and cute pair of hear earrings.

Victoria’s Secret Bikini Bottom

Got these bikini bottoms for $2.99 at the Victoria’s Secret Outlet in a Peach color! What a steal!

Forever 21 Maxi Dress

Got this maxi dress for $14.50 and it’s very comfortable!

Forever 21 Chain Link Necklace

I’ve been wanting a necklace like this for a while but they are always so pricey! Found this one at Forever 21 for $10.80 and was so excited!

MAC Mocha

I got this lipstick from the CCO at the outlet and loved the color! It was also a good deal, $11! It was hard being in a CCO because I wanted to buy anything!

Ross

I finally went to Ross after a few months! I’m always upset because there is no Ross in NYC and I love that store so much! I got this really cute purse for $9.99 and TWO false lashes for $1.99! I love that store!

Ulta

Ulta happened to be right next to Ross so I made a little visit! NYX items were buy one, get one 50% off so I picked up these two lip colors! NYX Color in Tack and NYX Round lipstick in Eucalyptus. Lastly I got an EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet.

H&M

Last stop of my shopping extravaganza was H&M where I found this beautiful bag ($17.95) and this phone cover ($5)!

The bag has a thin gold chain so it also becomes a cross body!

This picture doesn’t give the color justice because it’s a beautiful neon color!

That’s all for my haul! Hope you all enjoyed it!

Staple Piece

Good Morning everyone! Happy Saturday!

Lately I’ve been noticing that I’m always wearing a blazer! I was looking through pictures on my phone and found this picture of me wearing this outfit on the same weekend I wore another blazer!

It’s easy to say that I LOVE blazers and always try to incorporate them into an outfit just because it really tops off a look. It’s currently pretty nice weather in NYC so I’m clearly enjoying it with a nice blazer!

The outfit above features a blazer from Forever 21 that I got a really long time ago, $10.80 jeans from Forever, Basic V-neck that I got from the Express outlet in Orlando and a Banana Republic Scarf that my friend Jenine gave me a while back.

So I ask this question because I’m sure I’m not the only one with this issue! What is that one piece that you always try to incorporate into your outfit?

Come to think about it, I might wear a blazer today! hahaha 🙂

Weekend Outfit!

This past weekend, I had a great time bonding with my roommates! Our time in NY is dwindling down so I’m glad we get to spend some time together exploring the city. Here is my outfit for Saturday.

The weather has been a little weird here, it’s cold one day and hot the next.

My main goal was to layer to pieces and keep the scarf just in case it got chilly. Thankfully my H&M bag came in handy if I ever needed to put away my scarf.

My outfit!

  • Black Blazer from Target (Got it on sale for $14 bucks a while back) Here’s a similar style!
  • The top I’m wearing can be a dress but its way to short so I paired it with some leggings. Here is a similar style!
  • Target Leggings! So comfortable. They usually cost $8 but they go on sale for $5 occasionally.
  • Scarf is from my grandmas closet 🙂 Here’s a pretty close style!
  • The boots are a really old pair that I purchased at Ross.
  • Earrings are leopard print tear drop earrings from Forever 21.

On to my arm candy! My friends and I have a secret jem in Miami called the Mart which is located at the Double Tree Hotel close to the Airport. We have been shopping here since high school and it is our FAVORITE place to find inexpensive jewelry!

  • Watch $30 (Including link removal)
  • Turquoise bracelet with gold accent $2.75
  • Brown bracelet $1.50 (Came in a pack of 3)

There is so much variety at this place and it may be a little overwhelming but you can find some really good stuff there!

Tips for your next visit to the Miami Mart!

  • Parking is $5 but if you get the ticket stamped, you get $1 back!
  • Check multiple stores before making a purchase because some stores may be more inexpensive than the one you just went to.
  • Go with cash!

*Few other things in case you are interested!

They also sell wholesale, so if you own a business then you can buy products in bulk.

Great place to buy bridesmaids gifts, prom accessories and just gifts in general for any occasion!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! If you have ever gone to this location or go after reading this, let me know how it went!

Happy Wednesday!

False Lash Application and Tips

This is a special post requested by my best friend, Anaili! She loves the way false lashes look on her so I decided to create a post explaining as best as possible how to apply and what I use.

Here are some of my personal favorites.

Elite Lashes $2.69

Love & Beauty False Lashes $1.00

Love & Beauty Fashion Lashes $2.80

Duo Lash Glue $6.49

For some reason, I could not find the Elite Lashes anywhere online but I usually get them at my local Duane Reade! Not even on Ebay which is strange but if you know where to find them, please let me know!

Another great and unusual favorites are from forever 21, you can usually find them for a dollar which a great deal and they really do the trick!

When it comes to applying lashes, I think the big secret is having a great lash glue.

My personal favorite is the Duo Dark Tone lash glue. It’s not white, instead it’s a grey color that dries in a deep shade of black so there is never that awkward white color that you need to cover with extra eye liner.

Tips:

  • Always measure the false lashes to your eyes! Sometimes they may be longer than your eye so you may need to trim them.
  • Play with the lashes and get used to placing them on your eye. Practice makes perfect!
  • When you are ready to apply the lashes, make sure you line them up with the middle of your eye.
  • Once you have placed them, hold down the sides! That’s usually the part that come off most often!
  • If you don’t get it right the first time, try again! You will become a pro in no time!
  • Take care of your lashes!
  • Keep those little cases they come in!

I tried taking pictures of myself applying lashes but that was not working so I decided to share this video of Dulce Candy doing the same thing I would do. Skip to 6:23 for the actual application. I love her videos and I know this one is old but she does a great job at explaining it!

Do you all have any other tips or favorite lashes? Let me know 🙂
