Thoughts: Drew Barrymore’s Flower Line

Good evening everyone! Happy Saturday. Just like many of you, I have been itching to try Drew Barrymore’s Flower makeup line for Walmart. After checking two Walmarts, I finally got my hands on three items from her line. Let me tell you though, I had to really search because the display was so miniscule, I could barely tell it was the Flower line.

The three items I purchased are:

photo(63)

Nail Polish in Gorgeous Gerbera $4.98

This adorable pink/peach shade is very pigmented and perfect for the spring.

Love:

–        The packaging is very slick

–        Great Color Selection (16 shades)

Dislike:
– The cap is a little big so it makes it a little hard to control during application

– Formula itself felt a little thick causing it to take a little too long to dry

Kiss Stick Luxury Lip Color in Get to the Poinsettia ($6.98)

Me in Lipstick

Now this what the item I was most excited about. The color is absolutely incredible! It’s a redish orange with blue undertones, which makes my teeth look really white! When I first tried on the color, I was amazed, then I tried for a full day…. Reapplied it 5 times! The lipstick seriously resembles MAC with its texture but lacks in the longevity department. Now, I’m not saying I hate it but I definitely wish it lasted longer. However, I love the color so much that I’d reapply it as many times as needed. I will probably try a few more colors from this line.

Love:

–        Packaging (Love the rose and white combo)

–        Shades

–        Pigmentation

Dislike:

–        Staying power

 Lipstick and Eyeliner

On your Mark Liquid Eyeliner in Brown ($6.98)
This is probably the most disappointing product. The liner just isn’t very pigmented. However, the packaging and felt tip applicator is actually really nice! Maybe I got a bad one or should try the black shade.

All in all, I really like the sleek packaging but I definitely think the formula of the specific items I tried need a little tweaking. Now, I haven’t tried other products from the line but I’m definitely looking forward to picking up the mascara and BB cream.

Hope this was helpful! Have you guys tried this line or plan on it? Let me know your thoughts. 🙂

Thoughts: Wet & Wild Lipsticks from Centerstage Fergie Line

Good morning everyone! I have two new products that I want to share my thoughts about. They are two shades from the new Centerstage Fergie for Wet & Wild.

First things first, the names are absolutely adorable: Old School Glam and Fuchsianista! I may have partially picked those two shades just because of the names.

WetnWild Fergie Lipsticks

On a serious note, the colors are AMAZING! I’ve only had these colors for a day and I’m already in love. I wore Fuchsianista to work today and got tons of compliments.

Initial thoughts:

– Like the sleek packaging

– Love the range colors they have available

– Not a big fan of the lipstick peeking out of the package but I can live with that.

Old School Glam:

– Beautiful redish pinkish shade with a hint of orange

– Completely matte with a hint of gloss

Fuchsianista:

– Deep pink shade with blue pearlescent undertone

– Not matte, has a hint of shimmer

They both have:

– Amazing pigmentation

– Go on very smooth

– Pretty good staying power (Only reapplied once)

– Great price! (Less than $4)

I am completely in love with these lipsticks! Wet and Wild has done it again and I can’t wait to get a few more shades! Definitely recommend you all try these lipsticks!

For some reason, I can’t find any of these items online. Maybe they are way too new. They should be available at your local drugstore but make sure you check for special displays.

Have you tried any of the new Centerstage items?

Ebay = Too much shopping!

Good evening everyone!

I have recently been browsing eBay a lot and finding some really cute items. One thing that has really caught my eye lately are large statement necklaces but they can get a little pricey. That’s where Ebay comes in! I recently ordered two beautiful necklaces and the first one came in yesterday. Can I tell you all how beautiful it is!

The seller has this necklace in 7 colors: green, apple green, yellow, pink, orange and black. As you can tell from the picture above, I purchased the yellow one and LOVE it! The color is great, it’s big but makes a great statement. I can totally see myself wearing this with a little black dress!

The one thing I will say is that the chain is way longer than it appears online but it’s really easy to hook on to another link. Also, it took two weeks to arrive which isn’t that bad!

Best part about this necklace… it was $6.99 with FREE shipping!

If you’re looking for some cute and inexpensive necklaces, check out eBay!

Let me know if any of you are big Ebay shopper and if you have any suggestions for me to try!

Essie’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month Collection 2012

Happy Saturday!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and a lot of pink usually hits the shelves as a form of contribution to different organizations from companies. On this blog I want to showcase Essie‘s collection for the month featuring four gorgeous pink hues.

The colors are called; i am strong, good morning hope, check-up and we’re in it together.

First and foremost, I absolutely LOVE the names and how powerful they are. I picked up the shade called check-up and it’s a beautiful shade of pink!

I know that it may look like just a regular pink but it’s truly a unique pink. The formula is incredible and has lasted over 2 weeks on my nails without major chipping.

Has anyone else picked up one of these colors?

UPDATE: Essie Nail Polish

Good evening everyone! First and foremost, I want to thank those who commented on my Essie nail polish post about its longevity. I had a friend who was having some trouble with Essie nail polishes and wanted to know if anyone else was having the same issue.

I wanted to let you guys know how my experience was going with my first ever Essie nail polish in the color Raise Awareness. The color is absolutely beautiful!

Below is a picture of what my nails look like after 8 days with the Essie polish.

The most surprising part about this self manicure is how long it lasted without chipping! It always feels like that’s the first thing that goes wrong.

For this complete at home manicure I used:

Sally Hansen Hard as Nail Hardener as my base coat ($2.89)

Essie’s Raise Awareness ($3.99 TJ Maxx)

OPI Top Coat ($8)

I will mention that everyone has different experiences with nail polish but this is what worked for me! Please let me know in the comments section what has worked for you!

New Handbag!

Happy Sunday everyone! A while back I fell in love with this beautiful and unique handbag at Ross. The amazing colors and size sold me so I purchased it at $34.95. The price is a little high for Ross but I knew that this would be a piece that I will have for a LONG time.

The handbag is from a website called Big Buddha and they have a ton of cute bags! I’ve also seen this brand at TJ Maxx! As you can tell from the picture above, the purse is absolutely beautiful! I love using it as a pop of color on with any outfit! My favorite part about it are the straps. The shorter strap is the perfect length because I can wear it on my arm or shoulder. Now it also has a detachable long strap that serves as a cross-body.

At first I was deceived by the white strap in the front because I thought you had to loosen it every time to open the bag but you don’t. Instead, there is a magnetic closure under the soft pink flap.

Again, I love this bag and have been wearing it very often! As mentioned before, I found it at Ross so you may be able to spot at your local store! If you find it, please let me know what you think 🙂

Also, check out the brands website for more cute handbags!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Tonight was the Teen Choice Awards and below I am sharing with you all my favorites looks from the pink carpet!

All in all, I truly enjoyed the simplicity of some of the looks for this event! The different cuts and shapes of the looks really impressed me! I would not mind borrowing any of the dresses above!

June Favorites!

Happy July everyone! Another month has passed by and it’s getting so hot! Below are my June favorites. I didn’t have that many favorites this month but I really am enjoyed these items this month! Hope you are all ready for the 4th of July celebrations!

1. Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner

Lately I’ve been really trying to do minimal makeup and haven’t wanted to wear my gel liner so I have giver this liquid eyeliner a try. Although it is not my favorite, it has come in handy when I am in a hurry. The formula is not that great and you really have to apply it multiple times to get a good black. However, it has been good to me in the speediness section!

2. NYX Eucalyptus

This month I have put my red lipstick away and busted out my pinks. When I first saw Eucalyptus, I was scared by all the shimmer it had but now I love it! It’s very loud but it is great for the summer!

3. Neon Target Vneck

I’ve always heard so many good things about these V-Necks but I never bought them because I found them at forever 21 for a lot less. Now I know why these are better! Main reason is that when I wash this shirt, it maintains the shape and length. This is always a problem for me with Forever 21 t-shirts because it always feels like they either got short or wide.

4. Coach wristlet

I got this cute wristlet from a coworker as a gift and I’ve loved it lately to carry all my essentials. It’s great because I can just transfer it from bag to bag or just run out with it and not have to worry about carrying a huge bag.

What are some of your favorites this month?

Night Time Outfit

Since spring has sprung, I love being able to put my colors together to go out at night. My favorite color is pink and I personally love to pair it with royal blue just because they compliment each other so well. For this outfit, I paired the two colors while keeping the rest of the pieces neutral.

I also want to mention that this whole outfit was a great deal! This pink blazer is amazing and only $6 from my local GoodWill shop! Blazers tend to get a little pricey so I suggest going to a thrift shop and looking through to find your next favorite blazer.

White T-shirt from Forever 21 $4.80

Blue Skirt from Forever 21 $6.80

Pink Blazer was thrifted from Goodwill $6

Glitter Pumps from Target $8.98 (Got these on sale a while back)

Gold Chain Link Necklace from Forever 21 $10.80

I’ve also got my natural curly hair making a come back now that it’s pretty hot out. More details about the products I use will come soon!

For my face I kept it pretty simple using:

  Nude on Nude by NYX

Mac Blacktrack Fluid line

Maybelline Colossal

Wet & Wild Ultimate Brow Kit

ELF Blush and Bronzer Duo

MAC Studio Fix Powder in NC35

Myself and the Empire State Building behind me! I love NYC!

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!
