Tips for Quick Makeup Look

Sometimes we just don’t have time in the morning to do a full face of makeup! It happens to me all the time so I found a way to look nice and refreshed while only spending about 3 minutes and using 4 items!

Here I am with no makeup. (Yikes!)

Here are the products I used:

Maybelline Colossal:

I’ve talked about this mascara before and will continue to say how wonderful it is! Putting on mascara will really open up your eyes and make you look refreshed!

Revlon Photo Ready Concealer:

This concealer has been working great for me so obviously it is something that I use almost daily. The coverage is great but it’s not heavy! It also adds some bightens yet conceals any under eye dark circles!

ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder:

Great for a quick sweep of bronzer and blush all in the same container. Using this will really sculpt your face and it’s really quick to apply!

NYX Color Lip Balm:

I finished off the look with a lip balm that provides color and moisture in one tube!

Here is the final look!

I look refreshed and ready for a wonderful day.

Hope you guys enjoyed this!

What’s in my travel makeup bag!

This weekend I’m in Orlando to see my boyfriend and as I was packing I thought about being really good with the amount of makeup I took! On this particular trip, I was only taking a carry on just because I didn’t want to trot around with a huge bag for just one weekend. I went light on my makeup bag with which is pretty impressive and I’m pretty happy with myself! I also knew that I would go shopping so downsizing the amount of clothes wasn’t that hard.

In this post, I will share with you all what I take in my makeup bag for one weekend.

Makeup:

  • Nude on Nude by NYX eye shadow palette
  • Blue Flame single eye shadow by MAC
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
  • Travel size version of High Beam
  • MAC blush in Emote
  • ELF blush and contouring duo
  • MAC Black track Fluid Line
  • Maybelline Colossal mascara
  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in Sand
  • Loreal Perfecting Base Primer
  • Duo Eyelash Adhesive
  • Elite Lashes #18
  • MAC Russian Red
  • Jordana Lip Pencil in Sedona Red
  • NYX Round Lipstick in Spell Bound
  • Victoria’s Secret Lip Gloss in I Want Candy
  • MAC Studio Fix power in NC35
  • Wet & Wild Brow Kit in Ash Brown
  • Revlon Photo Ready Concealer in Medium
  • Kirkland Travel Makeup Remover towelettes

Brushes:

  • MAC 224
  • MAC 187
  • MAC 129
  • MAC 212
  • MAC 239
  • ELF Crease Brush
  • Target Angled brush
  • ELF C Brush

This may look like a long list but it really isn’t! I was also able to fit it all in this cute Zebra and Pink bag from Marshalls! Of course I carry this with my on the plane because I’m always scared about something breaking if I check it in or even put it up with my carry on.

Is this a good list or should I have taken less? Tell me about how you all travel!

Current Mascara Favorites

As requested by my old roomie Natalia, here are my two current favorite mascaras!

I have a soft spot in my heart for Maybelline mascaras just because they have been in the game for so long and still manage to produce one of the best mascaras! In the sequence of pictures you can see what I look like with no mascara up to two coats. With mascara in general, I usually apply 2 coats just because I like the length and volume. Great thing about this mascara is that you can find it at most drugstores and for a reasonable price too (usually $7 or less)!

I was recently lucky to get a sample from my cousin on her recent trip to the Chanel counter. I gave this try and I fell in love! The brush is smaller so it give you a little more precision when it comes to getting in between the lashes. This one also is quick to make a difference even with one quote as you can see in the picture. I don’t think I will be purchasing the full size because I can’t justify spending $30 on a mascara but if you can afford it, then try it because it works wonders!

Final Thoughts:

These two mascaras are my current favorites but with my current budget I would definitely stick to the Colossal because it does a really good job! Like I said, the Chanel mascara gives a dramatic effect with just one coat, while the Colossal takes two coats to really expand the lashes. If you can spare some time doing two coats then give Colossal a try! You won’t be disappointment. However, I do find myself wishing I was able to afford the Chanel, but one day I’m sure I will. 🙂

Hope you all enjoyed this!

What is your favorite mascara?
