Review: Buxom Lash

Last month, I mentioned receiving some Sephora goodies from two friends. I’ve been able to try out the Buxom mascara that came in the Beach Bound kit and LOVE it!

Above is a picture of myself with no mascara which looks kind of dull! Next to it, is the mascara that can turn my lashes into long, luscious, almost false lashes!

What I love:

  • Length it provides
  • Great for volume
  • Amazing brush
  • True to it’s name, Blackest Black
  • You can get this trial size version with a lip gloss for $12 at Sephora!

What I didn’t like:

  • Not much length with one coat
  • Need to really thoroughly coat for the product to stick to lashes
  • Full size price ($19)

Above is two pictures with the difference between coats! I must say that I love the way my lashes look with the two coats so I usually stick to two coats.

All in all, I really like the idea that Sephora has with letting you buy this mascara (trial size) with a lip gloss for $12! Therefore, if you are on the hunt for a good mascara, I would definitely pick up the Beach Bound set from Sephora!

Let me know if you try this mascara!

Review: Garnier curl calm down cream

Hey everyone! I mentioned to you all a while back that I bought the Garnier Curl Calm Down Cream to try on my not so manageable curly hair. I recently finished the entire bottle and wanted to share how I feel about the product!

I have pretty curly ringlets that tend to get frizzy without any product in it. I enjoy having a natural look without looking like I have stiff curls. I also have a reasonably large amount of hair.

The cream claims to:

  • 24hr definition, frizz control and intense moisture
  • With nourishing shea
  • Makes hair super soft, with a great curl pattern

(Claims are thanks to the Garnier website!)

Retails for: $4.29

Things I liked:

  • Texture of the cream
  • Smells wonderful!
  • Makes my hair feel soft
  • Packaging! It has a pump!
  • Great for touch ups (For example: If I wanted to pick up my hair on the third day, it would be great to slick back my hair for a messy look.)
  • Price is great!

Things I DIDN’T like:

  • Didn’t do much to my hair without applying other products.
  • Always felt like I had to use a lot of cream to get all my hair.
  • Product didn’t last very long since I always had to use a lot.

All in all, the product felt good on my hair but if I used it alone, it just became a frizzy mess because it didn’t hold my curl very well. If you don’t have frizzy and extremely curly like mine then it might work for you as a light cream to give you some kind of hold. If you have curly hair like mine, I would suggest pairing this product with some sort of mousse and hairspray for a more contained look.

Ulta Wishlist!

Ulta Wish List

Hey everyone! I have been currently lusting on quite a few products from Ulta so I wanted to share them with you all.

1. Revlon Whipped Color Stay Foundation

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this product and would love to try it. I don’t have many foundations but the Color Stay line is always known for being so great that I want to see what all the hype is about! For a in depth review, check out It’s Judy Time. She has an awesome review!

2. Urban Decay De Slick

It’s summer time and I get really oily sometimes in my T-Zone and would love to see if this spray is the magic everyone talks about. I know that Urban Decay also has a oil blotting powder. Which one do you all recommend? Also heard about the Skindinavia line of finishing sprays, is that one better?

3. Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stain

Another recommendation from It’s Judy Time! Check out her review! She explains how nice it feels on your lips and during this time of year, I want to stay clear of any matte finish. I was able to try it on when my cousin purchased her first shade this past week! I’ll admit that I regretted not getting myself a few of the colors!

4. Urban Decay Naked Palette

I know I’m late on this and know that I have a nice neutral palette that I love but can you blame me for wanting to try it?

5. Benefit Erase Paste

Another one that a lot of people recommend that I really want to try! I’m just always on the fence about it when I test it out at Ulta. It never looks like it’s covering anything. I’m also in love with my Photo Ready concealer so I don’t know if I’m comparing it too much!

Thank you guys for reading! Let me know if there are any other products you think I should try!

Favorite Neutral Palette

Now a days there are so many nude palettes on the market that it becomes difficult to find one that suits you. Like everyone else, I wanted to try the coveted Urban Decay Naked Palette but didn’t really want to spend the $50 on it. So one day at Ulta, I spotted the NYX Nude on Nude palette that retails for $25 on sale for $14! Without hesitation, I purchased it and have never looked back!

*The Palette is currently $25 at Ulta but always look out for a sale!*

Why I love it:

  • Amazing range of colors!
  • Matte and shimmer shades
  • 20 shades!
  • Very pigmented
  • Amazing lasting power (with primer!)
  • The price!
  • Multipurpose
  • Every color you need in one compact package
  • Includes lip colors!
  • Lot of great one color shades for quick makeup looks
  • Cruelty Free

Swatches:

The palette really lets you play up a nude look during the day but also intensify at night with one of the amazing darker shades.

There isn’t enough good things that I can say about this palette because it has really come in handy! I used it on my graduation photos on my friend and I and it was amazing!

As always, I use a primer before applying the shadows for better lasting power and I’m always impressed by how beautiful the colors show up.

This is a picture taken by Alexander Rothschild for our College Graduations! My friend Jenine (left) and I right both have on the NYX Nude on Nude Palette and it truly photographed well!

Here is a close-up of my eyes after using the NYX Palette!

Hope you all enjoyed this post about my favorite nude palette! What is your favorite nude palette?

Review: Garnier BB Cream

Very excited to share with you all my very first review!

A little bit ago I mentioned that I was looking forward to trying the new Garnier BB Cream. I have been able to try for a few weeks now and sadly I’m not too happy with it! I had a lot of high hopes for this product since it promised so much like correcting, smoothing, and even skin tone!

Let me first mention that my skin is combination. I have some dry areas but for the most part I do tend to have a really oily T zone. At first, I was very impressed by the way it felt on my skin. On my first try, I set it with my studio fix since I was scared that it wouldn’t hold up. Well, that never changed! Every time I tried to wear it without setting it, it made my face very oily. That was my first disappointment just because I was looking for something that I was able to throw on and not have to worry about.

Secondly, the consistency was very thick and it felt like a foundation, which isn’t a bad thing if you think about it, but I personally didn’t like it. It also just came off the skin! It started off great but didn’t last long.

Lastly, the product broke me out in the forehead are with small little zits that I don’t typically get. The cream was the only new item in my regular routine so I knew it had to be that. I have not used the cream in about 2 weeks and the zits have cleared out.

All in all, the product seems very promising but it need a little tweaking with the formula. I have also never tried any other BB creams so I have hopes that is one out there that really holds up to it’s name.

Hope you all enjoyed this review of the Garnier BB Cream.

Please comment below if you have tried this and what your thoughts are! If you have any other BB creams that you think I should try, please let me know!

Have a fabulous day!

This review is my true and honest opinion about this product.
