Review: Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen

I have a confession to make… I’ve been cheating on my MAC fluidline! In a past post, I mentioned that MAC Fluidline was my favorite eyeliner until I encountered the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen.

This eyeliner is unlike any other! It retails for $6.56 at you local drugstore and is available in three colors; blackest black, black and blackened brown.

This eyeliner claims:

-Felt tip controlled application
-Smudge-proof lasting color that wears up to 16 hours
-Easier to apply than traditional liquid eyeliners

Why I like it:

– ALL of the claims are TRUE!

– The felt tip is incredible with precision

– The lasting power is pretty good too! It will definitely last an entire work way.

– It is most definitely easier to apply than traditional liquid eyeliners. The felt tip applicator allows for great control of the product and the line.

– The color is a true black that does not require three coats

– Matte finish!

– Slick pencil like packaging

– Great price

What I don’t like:

– I wish it existed in other colors!

– My cousin has tried this product before and mentioned that the product was not as vibrantly black in the beginning. However, she stored it upside down for over 24hrs to allow the product to go down.

All in all, this is a great product that is definitely worth spending under $7. The color, longevity and ability to create a precise line is incredible!

Let me know what you guys think of this product if you have tried it or plan on trying it.

Latina Magazine & CVS Beauty Bash/Mi Belleza

Good evening everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

This past Thursday I was lucky to attend a beauty event hosted by Latina Magazine and CVS called Beauty Bash/Mi Belleza. Let me just start off by saying that I had such a GREAT time! This was my first beauty event and I can assure you that it won’t be my last!

The event showcased this falls biggest trends by their Beauty Editor Amanda Flores. I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking to Amanda and she is an absolute sweetheart.

She had a lot of great fall trends that I am so excited to try! Not to mention the demonstration of all the trends live. They also had makeup artists on hand to try out the look you preferred.

Fall Beauty Trends:

  • Dark red vampy lip!
  • Cobalt Blue Cat Eye liner.
  • Small amount of gold on the lid.
  • Smokey eye starting with the lightest color on the tear duct and then working your way to the darkest color in the outer lid.
  • Bold eyebrow!

I chose to try the dark vampy lip by a very nice makeup artist named Alexa. She used the color Plum Paradise from Maybelline and I loved it! Check her out on twitter: @AlexaTeal!

Afterwards, I met the beautiful Shaquira Bonilla! She is a makeup teacher here in Miami. Check out her amazing hair! Visit her on youtube and twitter, she’s extremely talented!

I absolutely loved meeting other beauty fanatics in the Miami area and hope to see Latina Magazine hosting more events here because you were all amazing! Thank you for all that you do for us Latinas!

Thank you for visiting my page!

Which trend will you try this upcoming Fall?

Review: Garnier curl calm down cream

Hey everyone! I mentioned to you all a while back that I bought the Garnier Curl Calm Down Cream to try on my not so manageable curly hair. I recently finished the entire bottle and wanted to share how I feel about the product!

I have pretty curly ringlets that tend to get frizzy without any product in it. I enjoy having a natural look without looking like I have stiff curls. I also have a reasonably large amount of hair.

The cream claims to:

  • 24hr definition, frizz control and intense moisture
  • With nourishing shea
  • Makes hair super soft, with a great curl pattern

(Claims are thanks to the Garnier website!)

Retails for: $4.29

Things I liked:

  • Texture of the cream
  • Smells wonderful!
  • Makes my hair feel soft
  • Packaging! It has a pump!
  • Great for touch ups (For example: If I wanted to pick up my hair on the third day, it would be great to slick back my hair for a messy look.)
  • Price is great!

Things I DIDN’T like:

  • Didn’t do much to my hair without applying other products.
  • Always felt like I had to use a lot of cream to get all my hair.
  • Product didn’t last very long since I always had to use a lot.

All in all, the product felt good on my hair but if I used it alone, it just became a frizzy mess because it didn’t hold my curl very well. If you don’t have frizzy and extremely curly like mine then it might work for you as a light cream to give you some kind of hold. If you have curly hair like mine, I would suggest pairing this product with some sort of mousse and hairspray for a more contained look.

Please let me know if you know of any other products I should try!

Nail of the Week

Hey everyone! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend 🙂

Yesterday I got a well deserved manicure and pedicure in Florida and decided to get a nice bright color in celebration of the summer months!

I picked out Orange Knockout Neon and love it! However, the picture above does not give it justice because it is definitely a lot more neon!

As you can tell from the picture above, it is VERY neon but it looks great on my toes and hands!

Hope you are all doing great 🙂

Ulta Wishlist!

Ulta Wish List

Hey everyone! I have been currently lusting on quite a few products from Ulta so I wanted to share them with you all.

1. Revlon Whipped Color Stay Foundation

I’ve heard a lot of good things about this product and would love to try it. I don’t have many foundations but the Color Stay line is always known for being so great that I want to see what all the hype is about! For a in depth review, check out It’s Judy Time. She has an awesome review!

2. Urban Decay De Slick

It’s summer time and I get really oily sometimes in my T-Zone and would love to see if this spray is the magic everyone talks about. I know that Urban Decay also has a oil blotting powder. Which one do you all recommend? Also heard about the Skindinavia line of finishing sprays, is that one better?

3. Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm Stain

Another recommendation from It’s Judy Time! Check out her review! She explains how nice it feels on your lips and during this time of year, I want to stay clear of any matte finish. I was able to try it on when my cousin purchased her first shade this past week! I’ll admit that I regretted not getting myself a few of the colors!

4. Urban Decay Naked Palette

I know I’m late on this and know that I have a nice neutral palette that I love but can you blame me for wanting to try it?

5. Benefit Erase Paste

Another one that a lot of people recommend that I really want to try! I’m just always on the fence about it when I test it out at Ulta. It never looks like it’s covering anything. I’m also in love with my Photo Ready concealer so I don’t know if I’m comparing it too much!

Thank you guys for reading! Let me know if there are any other products you think I should try!

Nail of the Week!

Happy Saturday everyone!

A few weeks ago I wrote about a some Sephora Goodies that I received as a gift from Lia and Cindy. With the gift, I received the Sephora for OPI Perfect Pair in the color Duo You Wanna Have Fun? It’s a beautiful coral color and a gold fine glitter polish.

This week I used both of the polishes to create a cool look with the glitter.

I applied a base coat, two coats of the coral color and then alternated with a half of each nail with the glitter color. It came out pretty cool so I’m pretty happy with it! As you can tell from the pictures, the glitter has an amazing sheen that looks great in the sun! I’d also say that the color with no flash is more of the true color because the flash on the bottom picture makes it look a lot more on the pink side.

Hope you all enjoyed this! Have a fabulous weekend!

How I wash my brushes!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Last night I was washing my brushes and realized that I LOVE what I use and it’s so inexpensive. So I wanted to share with you all! I have used the MAC brush cleanser before and liked it but this is wayyyy better!

This Target Up & Up Baby Shampoo is a HUGE bottle and it only costs $1.52 (price depends on different stores but it does not go above $2).

I usually wash my brushes once a week just to keep the bacteria out. When I wash them, I apply a dime size of product and swirl the brush in my hand to get all of the makeup out.

It does require over night drying but the end result is amazing! Did I mention that it also smells really nice!

I hope you guys enjoy this little tip! Let me know if you try this! 🙂

Tony Awards Fashion

As always, award season red carpets showcase some of the most beautiful gowns I’ve ever seen and the Tony Awards were no exception!

My top pick has got to be Sheryl Crow! She worked this gown so well! Not to mention how beautiful her hair, makeup and accessories accentuate the entire look!

Ashley Spencer was another beautiful look! This color looks great on her and I absolutely love the red lipstick! Similar to Sheryl Crow, her hair, makeup and accessories tied the whole look together very well.

All pictures are courtesy of Broadwayworld.com.

Do you all like the looks I picked? If not, which ones were your favorites 🙂
