Male Skin Care

Good evening everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a very productive Monday!

I want to share with you all a product that has been working for my boyfriend. I know that a lot of my readers have significant others, friends or fathers that are looking for a way to keep their skin clear.

My boyfriend has tried a good amount of products ranging from Proactiv to Clean and Clear but this St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Cleanser has been his to go product for over a month now.

Why he likes it:

– Can be used everyday as compared the St. Ives Scrub that can only be used a few times a week

– Does not dry out your face

– Small beads feel like they are really cleaning the face

His routine:

– While taking a warm bath allowing his pores to open, he applies the cleanser and then ends with cold water to close up his pores

*This is the only skin care product he uses besides occasional usage of a toner.*

This item can be found at your local drugstore for about $5.49. It is definitely worth a shot!

Hope you all enjoyed this post! Please let me know if any of your friends try this or if you have another suggestion for male skin care!

Big shout out to my boyfriend for giving me his thoughts about this product! Love you! 🙂

Please keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different so this may not work for everyone!

Great Find!

Happy Saturday! As a makeup lover, I always love trying new things but hate committing to a high price when I run the risk of not liking it. Thankfully, Ulta has a mini version of a lot of high end products that I may have always wanted to try!

My newest item is the Tarte Blush and Bronzer on the Go featuring an Amazonian Clay Blush in Doll Face and a bronzer in Park Ave Princess. The size is small but we all know that we don’t ever go through a whole container of blush or bronzer so the mini size is perfect!

I have always heard great things about these items so I am very excited to try them out! At $15 it is a great way to try out a product that I probably would have never tried otherwise.

Next time you are at your favorite Ulta, check out the little area before check out, you may find that one product you have been wanting to try!

Hope you all enjoyed this! Let me know if you love trying out these mini versions of high end products!

UPDATE: Essie Nail Polish

Good evening everyone! First and foremost, I want to thank those who commented on my Essie nail polish post about its longevity. I had a friend who was having some trouble with Essie nail polishes and wanted to know if anyone else was having the same issue.

I wanted to let you guys know how my experience was going with my first ever Essie nail polish in the color Raise Awareness. The color is absolutely beautiful!

Below is a picture of what my nails look like after 8 days with the Essie polish.

The most surprising part about this self manicure is how long it lasted without chipping! It always feels like that’s the first thing that goes wrong.

For this complete at home manicure I used:

Sally Hansen Hard as Nail Hardener as my base coat ($2.89)

Essie’s Raise Awareness ($3.99 TJ Maxx)

OPI Top Coat ($8)

I will mention that everyone has different experiences with nail polish but this is what worked for me! Please let me know in the comments section what has worked for you!

Small Haul!

Good evening everyone! Today I decided to pass by a mall on my way home just to check out what they had. It nice to sometimes go in the middle of the week to avoid the weekend mad rush! I didn’t get too many things but I sure am happy about the few purchases I made!

As we all know, sheer top are very in style lately which leads me to buy tank tops to wear underneath. So far, the best deals I’ve found are at Forever 21. They cost $2.80 and have a wide variety of colors!

I got the tank top in three colors; black, white and peach. I think they will be great to wear with a lot of things. Besides, you can never have too many tanks and especially at $2.80!

Before checking out I saw this cute bow and had to have it! It cost $3.80 and it’s so cute! I can see myself wearing this with a chunky necklace.

My last and most favorite purchase are these wedges from Charlotte Russe! They were $10!!! These will be great all year round so I’m going to get good use out of them. As always, these may not be available at you local Charlotte Russe but I highly suggest you all going to check! You never know what you might find! 🙂

Have you all found any good deals lately? Let me know below in the comments!

Nail of the Week!

If you remember my recent Sale Alert post then you saw my first Essie polish. I loved it so much that I immediately changed my polish. I must admit that I love the baby pink shade of this color and the opacity of it! Below I am wearing two coats of the color.

Again, this is Essie’s Raise Awareness.

*I had a friend comment on my post about this polish explaining her experience with Essie nail polishes. She said that they chip really quickly on her. Do you guys have this same issue?

Sale Alert!!

Good evening everyone! I have a confession to make…

I bought my first Essie nail polish today!

I know, I’m EXTREMELY late with Essie but today I was doing a little shopping at T.J. Maxx and happened to stumble upon some nail polishes by the register. You know how all these stores have cute stuff set up around the purchase line and today there was quite a back up. Good thing for that because I was able to score my FIRST Essie nail polish for…

$3.99!

This beautiful pink shade was part of their Breast Cancer Awareness month.

It’s called Raise Awareness and I love it! Can’t wait to feature it on a Nail of the Week post!

Here’s the proof of the price! The polishes were by the register and they had 3 other Essie colors available. I know that not all T.J. Maxx stores will carry these specific polishes but as always I encourage you to take a trip and hunt for it because you never know what you will find! 🙂

Have a great night everyone! 🙂

Let me know in the comments below if you find any Essie polishes at your local T.J. Maxx!

Review: Garnier curl calm down cream

Hey everyone! I mentioned to you all a while back that I bought the Garnier Curl Calm Down Cream to try on my not so manageable curly hair. I recently finished the entire bottle and wanted to share how I feel about the product!

I have pretty curly ringlets that tend to get frizzy without any product in it. I enjoy having a natural look without looking like I have stiff curls. I also have a reasonably large amount of hair.

The cream claims to:

  • 24hr definition, frizz control and intense moisture
  • With nourishing shea
  • Makes hair super soft, with a great curl pattern

(Claims are thanks to the Garnier website!)

Retails for: $4.29

Things I liked:

  • Texture of the cream
  • Smells wonderful!
  • Makes my hair feel soft
  • Packaging! It has a pump!
  • Great for touch ups (For example: If I wanted to pick up my hair on the third day, it would be great to slick back my hair for a messy look.)
  • Price is great!

Things I DIDN’T like:

  • Didn’t do much to my hair without applying other products.
  • Always felt like I had to use a lot of cream to get all my hair.
  • Product didn’t last very long since I always had to use a lot.

All in all, the product felt good on my hair but if I used it alone, it just became a frizzy mess because it didn’t hold my curl very well. If you don’t have frizzy and extremely curly like mine then it might work for you as a light cream to give you some kind of hold. If you have curly hair like mine, I would suggest pairing this product with some sort of mousse and hairspray for a more contained look.

For more reviews, check out the Garnier website!

Please let me know if you know of any other products I should try!

Small Haul!

Hey everyone! Today I went to Walgreens and found a couple of things that I wanted to try at a good deal so I’m really excited and wanted to share it with you all!

I know that I’m once again late but I finally picked up two Baby Lip balms! I couldn’t help myself they are currently buy one get one 50% off at Walgreens.

The two colors I got are Cherry Me &

Peach Kiss

I’m really excited to try these two items! Actually, I just put on Peach Kiss and it feels amazing!

The other two items I purchased are nailpolishes.

Sinful Colors are currently on sale for $.99!

The color I got is called Rain Storm and it’s a beautiful shade of blue.

Picture is courtesy of Google Images!

Last nailpolish I got is from the new Fergie Collection for Wet and Wild. Since I’m a fan of W&W nailpolishes, I decided to pick up this shade of pink. It cost $3.49 at Walgreens but it’s not showing up on their website.

Quick tip: Check for displays to find these polishes because they were not in the W&W display.

Hope you all enjoyed this! Let me know if you would like to see more hauls!
